Digging into the wild

Nature has an amazing capability to teach. I leaned into my plant hobby these past two years and converted about 1/16th acre of yard space to host two growing spaces—a perennial herb flower garden and a seasonal veggie garden—along with adding pollinator meadows. Along the way, experiencing a slower, evolving design whose results are out of my control. I can only set up the framework and tend it, addressing where I see deficiencies and threats, and hopefully reaping a harvest in its time.

But I cannot make it grow. How much I’ve learned about my own role in the world and responsibility as a person and designer through the simple act of sowing seeds in hope.
